José Manuel Velasco Guardado (Spain, 1965) has a degree in Journalism from Madrid's Complutense University and completed the Advanced Strategic Program at the Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne (Switzerland). He is Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coach Federation (ICF). Currently works as PR consuntant and executive coach. He is member of the advisory board of the latinoamerican leading PR agency Llorente & Cuenca, CEO of Santos Creativos and senior advisor of Thinking Heads.
José Manuel Velasco's work experience includes 25 years at the construction and environmental services company FCC, the energy company Unión Fenosa and the Spanish State-owned railway company (Renfe), as Head of Communications. Prior to joining Renfe, he worked as a journalist for print media and radio broadcasters. From July 2017 he is chair of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management. The GA is the confederation of the world’s major PR and communication management associations and institutions, representing 170,000 practitioners and academics around the world.
